How to fix Gears of War 3 Game Freeze

So my game kept freezing when I pressed start at the main menu and the game froze and froze. So i found a fix, tho annoying, it worked. According to other people online this “freeze” is caused by playing the campaign mode and that last update that was released. Supposedly microsoft is working on patch to fix this.
