How to fix Gears of War 3 Game Freeze

So my game kept freezing when I pressed start at the main menu and the game froze and froze. So i found a fix, tho annoying, it worked.
According to other people online this “freeze” is caused by playing the campaign mode and that last update that was released. Supposedly microsoft is working on patch to fix this.
Go to your memory settings on your dashboard, go to profiles, select your profile then go to game data, then delete campaign saves and player data. Trust me its very upsetting and annoying but it worked, lost all my campaign progress but at least I can play now.
This bug was so upsetting I hope epic or MS give us some kind of redemption code or something for this extra inconvenient bug that should have been picked up by the QA staff.

I am having freezing issues on the first transition seen of the campaign after Anya walks down the first hallway. I can not play any horde…it counts down to the start of the horde match, then freezes. It just started freezing today on beast mode and multiplayer never worked either. I literally can’t play any part of this game now, on or offline…I tried everything. Erasing my memory of Gow 3, using different profiles, Disc has 2 tiny scratches that would not cause the freezes (plus it was freezing for my xbox tipped over and scratched…I now keep my xbox flat lol) I even tried downloading it..it freezes every single time at 34%. I tried cleaning the disc. I have a 120gb hard drive with 90gb free space. WTF?!?!?!?!
Oh and all my other games work, so it’s a GOW 3 issue, and it seems this is a common issue…common GOW team…get your crap together.
Richard, I’ve been reading around online and it seems there might have been some faulty discs released, you should try to exchange it, I remember when I got a new copy of Halo 3 on release date, it had some minor scratches on it and I went back to the store and exchanged it(walmart), no questions asked. Could be a fault on behalf of epic or the disc manufacturer, either way you should see if you can exchange,becuase my freeze fix here is for the start menu which I know a bunch of other people were going thru the same thing. Does this mean that after i do this process will i loose my beta character cole train? And all of my unlocked weapon skins?
yeah i played the game fine, but in act 5 in the campaign it would freeze/loop loading forever, so i gaveup on that and played multiplayer for a day or 2 then it froze in game, and now i cant even get to the menu, it LOOPS LOADING after the epic and microsoft screen pass, it also doesnt show the “tip” that normally shows with a loading screen, i tried the game on my friends xbox and it works fine, i tried many games on my xbox and they all work flawlessly, there are a few scratches on my gears bc of the xbox but nothing to make it stop running, hence why it played fine on my friends xbox, please help
ive done all the “fixes” there have been out there and nothing..should i just buy another game? im afriad to waste 60 bucks again cause thats $120 gone into bs -_-
Try to borrow or rent another copy to verify its not your disc. That’s rare that deleting campaign/player data didn’t seem to work for you, I had almost the same exact problem and that fix worked for me. So crazy how such a huge title game could have these annoying little bugs. Best of luck man. (I’ll keep an eye out for any updates)
I’ve heard/read that as well. I know my freezing problem isn’t the disc… because if it WAS, it would’ve started freezing the first time I played horde or any other game type. But no, it just randomly started happening after I was playing with my friend on split-screen horde. Maybe if I play split-screen with my friend again, but this time, be the screen on top instead of the bottom… Maybe the freezing will go away? I’m desperate at this point… And I really don’t want to delete all my data to play again, especially if it just happens again shortly after I do.
